Judson helps people fall in love with learning through creativity, fitness, and well-being.

Born and raised on Tuscarora and Lumbee ancestral land (colonized as North Carolina, USA), Judson’s natural passion derives from his musical roots as a cellist which led his exploration toward the humanities. As a teacher, trainer, consultant, and creative, he works to liberate learners from the weight of the status quo. If he could carry one tool with him, it would be a rhinestone mirror to reflect the strengths and passions of others. While operating with the big picture in mind, he makes time for genuine relationships with his colleagues, clients, and students to focus his lens on science-based tools to create learning experiences that are inclusive, inspiring, and effective. He lives by his truth: the work of a teacher means always being a student.

Judson is pursuing his Doctorate of Education in Learning, Design, and Technology at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. He is a former secondary teacher who earned his MA in Romance Languages from Appalachian State University. Here he also graduated magna cum laude with a BS in K-12 Spanish Education and title of 2016-17 Student Teacher of the Year. Judson spent every semester in a student teaching role, teaching Spanish, English, and Linguistics. He is proud to have worked with learners of diverse abilities from age 5 to adult, in multiple languages, from the snowy mountains on the Tennessee border to the humid hugs of sunny Costa Rica. As a teacher, he is trained to develop a vast and unique skillset, which aids him in coaching, graphic design, logistics, organization, podcasting, and video editing. Since 2013, Judson has also worked in the fitness industry as a certified group fitness instructor and personal trainer. In 2018, he was selected as a Trainer, Assessor, and Presenter for Les Mills International, a global fitness company based in Aotearoa (colonized as Auckland, New Zealand), through which he has facilitated the development of 1000+ instructors; presented fitness masterclasses and education events; and earned the titles of Assessor of the Year (2019), Trainer of the Year (2021), and the ‘Be Brave’ Value Award (2022). He is most recently featured as a presenter on BODYSTEP 130, available to steam now on LES MILLS+.

He is a punctual, responsible, and thoughtful human being. He treats his colleagues and students with respect. He is very aware of social issues that affect his students and adapts his lessons and curriculum according to his students' needs. He has high organizational and excellent communication skills. As an educator, he is responsible for over 100 students, their paperwork and grades, and regularly contacts parents with updates about their students. • "Judson and I worked together while I was director of educational scholarship at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine. I was quite impressed by how quickly Judson acclimated to the culture that is medicine. He wanted to know the big picture of medical education, from undergraduate into professional development. Building that foundational knowledge truly helped him excel in his work. I always found Judson to be a "Yes, and..." person who always sought to find solutions. Even though that was not always successful, he gave his heart and soul to see if a win-win situation could be achieved. I think that is an attribute of his that made the faculty extremely pleased to work with him. Additionally, Judson is an exceptionally gifted educational researcher. Research related to the impact and reach of faculty development programs is lacking. He initially suggested ideas for evaluating a new faculty educator bootcamp. The results from that study were pretty impressive. He continually looked for ways to make his work meaningful and to have impact, which was through educational scholarship. It was a huge loss to the university, but I know that in whatever endeavor he pursues, it is going to be of the highest quality with a "can do" attitude at all times."

Assistant Dean of Evaluation and Assessment, University of Tyler at Texas School of Medicine

  • "Judson is the hardest working person I have ever had the pleasure to work with. He puts everything he has into whatever the task at hand is, and he executes everything to the absolute best of his ability. I had the opportunity to watch him take on the task of being a brand new Group Fitness Director, and it was inspiring to watch him learn, grow, and inspire the team that he was leading. Judson jumps head first into anything that is asked of him whether he has done it before or not, and he does not shy away from new opportunities. He is passionate about learning and sharing that with everyone around him. Judson is a kind and empathetic person which is a vitally important skill in any workplace. He is someone who I admire deeply both professionally and personally. He is the brightest light I have ever known, and he has such a unique ability to excel at whatever he is challenged with."
